Open twerking workshop ‘Free the Pelvis 101: Getting to Know Your Glutes through Movement’

The pelvis, our root chakra, centre of all stability and sacred space where life is brought into this world has been cast aside due to years of moral, religious and pseudo-intellectual prejudice. In this workshop we encourage you to ditch this patriarchal rhetoric and give yourself permission to activate and explore your pelvis! We will use the twerk technique as a base movement to improve control and core strength, body isolation techniques to contrast the gluteus muscles from the perineum, floor work rooting us to the natural world and a choreography sequence focused on transitions and musicality to close. All with strong rhythmic emphasis.
