On the floor, two steps away from us, the bodies collide, are torn, are attracted, are made and undone. Violence, humour and tenderness. It is amazing the power of dance, of the dancers who twist and resist as if their lives were at stake. ASUELTO is an exploration in progress about our work; an observation within our reality to achieve necessary actions, understanding life as an organism, like a moving body that transmits and shares what it is: magical and tangible, conceptual and sensitive, beautiful and ugly… Alive.
In 2010, ArtHUR and CANdelaria started their common research, creating Discordio, the winning performance at Certamen Coreográfico de Vallecas. The following year, they started the creative process Te Odiero, which will also receive several choreographic awards in Spain, Germany and France. Their further work, Je te haime, was premiered in 2013 and it was awarded at Feria Internacional de Teatro y Danza de Huesca. At this same contest, they were also awarded for ASUELTO. HURyCAN’s works have been presented internationally across the continents.
