Move In is the journey of migrants; a utopian and exhausting journey full of expectation that is explained by circus techniques: acrobatics, teeterboard, Cyr wheel, juggling and object manipulation. 7 very skilful artists coming from a circus social project. An incredible visual creation that takes us to a world of light, illusion and persistence but where shadows of struggle are also present, and sometimes, shadows of failure are present too. A cry of sorrow and hope for the situation thousands of people live every day in their quest for a better world. The performance offers a glimpse of contemporary African culture.
Fekat Circus was born in 2004, in Addis Ababa (Ethiopia), thanks to the initiative of Dereje Dange and a group of young boys who had grown up in a suburb of Addis Ababa. Fekat Circus is much more than circus, it is a social project that thanks to an Italian NGO has been professionalised and has expanded its creative and social educational work, becoming a point of reference in Ethiopia. They have already toured internationally in Europe and Asia. They have three projects underway: the education of street children on circus arts, ‘Smile’s Medicine Project’, and the artistic creation project to produce their performances for national and international tours.
