Not sure where this is going is based on a physical research about collapsing. In our daily practice as circus performers, we have to go through failure in order to succeed. Loss of energy, giving up and failing in a safe way are well-known conditions for us. By accepting the moments of breaking down, we create an intimate atmosphere between the four of us, where trusting and offering a hand to each other will help us through the process.
Four friends are forming the group Familiar Faces, whose circus discipline is partner acrobatics. They graduated in 2017 from the Circus school ACaPA in Tilburg. Their interest in movement as a tool to communicate on stage holds them together and keeps them creating new ways of interacting with each other. They combine hand to hand acrobatics with dance and theatre to create their own understanding of contemporary circus.
