We live in a programmed world where introspection tends to deflate when we find ourselves shoved into the collective bustle. Every day we succumb to a mechanic and ordinary dance going through everything that surrounds us: avenues, traffic… Simultaneously, we treasure our inner self and its own movement. Extracto Abierto engages the audience and invites you to share the inner self that we all possess. It is a trip to nowhere through the concept of multiplicity. Flamenco is the language we use to perform and move freely along different music and dance horizons.
Cía. Marco Flores is a company in residence at Teatros del Canal, in Madrid. The company struggles to keep a language of its own, avoiding preestablished trends. Its productions are built upon absolute creative freedom, setting themselves apart from any classical or modern aesthetic cliché. This style has been a recipient of awards such as the Specialised Critics Award at Festival de Jerez. In just over seven years, the company has reached international acclaim, and its shows have taken part in numerous festivals and theatres from around the world.
